‘Tis The Season

Date December 10, 2009

Purple HatWell, during my lunch break I decided to go to Dick’s Sporting Goods to try and find some water resistant gloves. On Saturday I am volunteering during our Rocket City Marathon, passing out water to the runners. I didn’t find any water-resistant gloves but I did find some other running attire I wanted – $150.00 worth.

I almost made it to the check-out line. However, just moments before the cashier was able to look directly in my eyes, the ole conscience kicked in. You see, I remembered it was Christmas time and who was I to be spending money on myself during the gift-giving season. No, I should be buying stuff for my kids, and others. So I put everything back and left empty handed.

Damn, I really wanted that purple hat too. I almost talked myself into just buying the hat but my Christmas spirit prevailed – that’s just another Christmas gift I can get SOMEONE ELSE.

Ugh, stupid holiday gift giving season.

::sigh::

    Go to any pharmacy and buy some latex gloves like your doctor uses….or just go to your doc and ask for a couple of them without charging you for a visit.
